At this point for PP, if you want to hay it on Sept 1, do not include sorghum or sorghum x sudangrass - it holds too much moisture in the stem and can result in moldy bales. So, just use millet or some kind of millet/oat mix to have a warm and cool season grass suitable for hay

JUST IN: Farmers and ranchers can start haying & grazing cover crops on prevent plant acres on Sept. 1. The adjustment was made because of the late planting season & forage shortages. Producers haying & grazing cover crops will remain eligible for their full 2019 PP indemnity.
