Where is the money going?

Look at the 3-2-1 crack spread — the approximate margin a refinery earns by turning three barrels of crude into two barrels of gasoline and one barrel of diesel.

Normal range in quieter markets: $20–25 per barrel.

Recent readings have hit $60–70+ per barrel, with reports of all-time highs near $64–70 in July.

That is an extreme refining margin.

When crude rises, pump prices jump quickly (rocket).
When crude falls, pump prices drift down slowly (feathers).

Studies of past cycles show roughly 37% of an upward crude move typically reaches the consumer, versus only about 23% of a downward move. The asymmetry is well-documented and persistent.

9/11 EXCLUSIVE: PENTTBOM AGENTS SPEAK OUT

Leading the PENTTBOM team out of Newark, New Jersey, former FBI Special Agent Bob Bukowski working with the late New Jersey criminal investigator Jim Bush, were assigned to the hijacking of American Airlines 77 that slammed into the Pentagon.

Their investigations led to the arrest of two living associates of the 9-11 hijackers in the US: Syrian national Daoud Chehazeh and his Jordanian roommate Eyad Rababah.

Investigators suspected the Syrian may have been at the center of the East Coast support network for the 9/11 hijackers, though he was never charged with a crime.

Declassified records contain a June 6, 2003 memo that indicates the Syrian was a top tier target in a workplan for the 9/11 Commission listing Chehazeh under “Possible Saudi Government and Royal Family Connections to the September 11 Hijackers and Other Terrorists and Terrorist Groups.”

The memo was written five months before agents Bukowski and Bush were formally interviewed by members of the 9/11 Commission about their PENTTBOM investigation into Chehazeh and Rababah.

During their 9/11 Commission interviews, Bukowski and Bush sounded the alarm about the men, including Chehazeh.

While Rababah’s name is mentioned more than two dozen times in the final 9/11 Commission Report,  documenting his assistance to the hijackers, there is no mention of Daoud Chehazeh.

A new investigation on @X by former colleague @browne_pamela raises questions about how Chehazeh was allowed to stay in the US for years after the 9/11 attacks and received asylum.

Browne reports her weeks-long effort to reach Chehazeh for comment via phone, email and through his former lawyers were unsuccessful.
