@josh_a_scott@mlbbowman This is why you get free agents in the offseason. waiting on the deadline is too risky. As mentioned above expanded playoffs has fewer teams selling
@ClintAnonymous@luzthegoosey I saw his statement in saying he’d love to be back but also “this is a business”. Not so sure he will take a massive discount. Some of these players have 1 shot in free agency to secure as much money as they can and they don’t always want to sell themselves short
@ChoppinBravos@MMike52915 Completely agree. Cant give him any more excuses. We are watching these guys collective prime years wasted without getting another legitimate World Series run due to his inaction and poor signings of washed guys he hopes to revive
@MMike52915@ChoppinBravos Nah, can’t let AA off the hook. It’s his job, avoiding adding SP for years is justifiable criticism. Aside from Acuna and Murphy we aren’t missing position players. Kim/Profar were signings,we count on too many bench guys to start . Hasn’t supplemented roster well since ‘21

What Joyce Carol Oates wrote to Elon Musk on Twitter. I am told it rattled him. I love it.
“So curious that such a wealthy man never posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates – scenes from nature, pet dog or cat, praise for a movie, music, a book (but doubt that he reads); pride in a friend’s or relative’s accomplishment; condolences for someone who has died; pleasure in sports, acclaim for a favorite team; references to history. In fact he seems totally uneducated, uncultured. The poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the ‘most wealthy person in the world.’”
Imagine taking a few Bible verses on human sexuality as literal divine commands from God for all society, but minimizing 2,000+ verses calling for the care of immigrants, the marginalized, the oppressed, and the poor to be a personal choice.
@RobertFach10@BeaneaterB Yep. The lists of needs is growing. We shouldn’t wait til deadline week and risk missing out while everyone is outbidding each other for resources. We need to start swinging deals now
@ClemEdwards1953@luzthegoosey Had to think big picture. Those 8runs happened on the 2nd which if we pulled him we woulda had to cover the whole game w/bullpen and there’s no off day till Thursday. That woulda screwed us for the entire next series
@BranhamLuc20911@MHIIisKing Agree. I’d take the proven major league talent any day. Everyone wants to keep every prospect. Only a small percentage of prospects turn into all stars. So we can’t hoard prospects and miss out on deals. I am torn on Skubal as a rental though
@ATLYeet@BravesStash Best bullpen in baseball yes, but there’s still 100 games to go plus October run. We have to take some innings off these guys. It’s not a talent problem, starters aren’t going deep enough into games which will add a lot of bullpen fatigue late in the yr and possibly postseason
@John18Hamilton@ChopAbusador Preach! And at $15mil/year that is on the high end for catcher salary for someone who will now only be a back up catcher that we can really only depend on him for some defense. It’s ok to admit he’s been a disappointment. It’s not personal.
@Murph7777@MHIIisKing Yep, exactly. Build the best bullpen possible. Give me the avengers of closers the way the Dodgers did with starters last year. It will take a squad to bring down LA in October.
