@iwritecoolstuff Culturally it is looked down upon to receive CRUCIAL help and while I do think it’s important to challenge existing systems, I think it’s negligent and harmful to perpetuate notions that meds and psych help overall do more harm than good.

@iwritecoolstuff Ok so correct me if I’m wrong here: so what you’re saying is mental illnesses are real you just a) don’t appreciate the field of psychiatry nor b) do you appreciate that behaviors caused by mental illnesses are seen as deviant by society?

@iwritecoolstuff Pg. 2 talks about the overall debate of imbalance theory which **to me** wasn’t explained as “nature vs nurture”, or at least that’s not what I got out of the above tweets. I got “psychiatry isn’t real” and for a lot of peeps that’s a touchy subject

@iwritecoolstuff Also I think people should be able to use their own experiences as evidence ***to a point***. I will say that personally meds have helped a ton and is, trial and error aside, totally worth it. To me. But you’re right, it’s not gospel.
