Congrats to “Rage Against the Archive” (Anshul Roy), the SIGGRAPH 2024 Art Gallery winner, an experimental browser-based video critically probing how the NYPL’s website catalogs and displays dehumanizing ethnographic photos from the 19th-century colonial-era publications @nypl
@karthiks To clarify, back in 2024,Ola cabs offered hotspots (not sure if they do still).Great fun for my hour long rides since I had prepaid data.Once phone automagically connected to cab from a week ago while in traffic on a bus, which made me think spectrum sharing was a real possibility.
Taxis apps in BLR must make a local Hotspot mandatory. Don’t have data while visiting India to use the QR code payment system, and had to pay my remaining 100 INR and 2 dollar bills that my driver happily agreed to , in lieu of a 240 Rupees fare.
@karthiks Their first hideout was right next to our first house in Thippasandra, followed by a year or more at a house in Indiranagar, right beside NPS. Remind me to show you when we meet in December. The house was sealed by Govt and owner was not allowed to rent it for close to 20 years.
@markrachapoom@MerseHQ@paulg Had a great experience reading the text while looking at the image. the moment i turned audio on, my attention was divided between text & voice and I couldn't focus on image. Perhaps audio and image (without the text) would be result in better multimodal fusion.
Excited to be presenting my research and meeting some scholars whose work I have been following for a while now. The NEH funded Global Cochlear Implant conference is free to register and attend in Chicago (Fri/Sat Oct 11/12 ). https://t.co/xUSt9RKBlB
@praymurray@Uber_India No car seats for toddlers, even in the US (because laws do not require taxis to comply with such safety guidelines). So done with Uber.
