@danielesibiza@ih8gaez so racists and colorists can have ammo to perpetuate the narrative that trinity and women like her are undesirable and generate more discourse.
@OtomeBlkGrl@GGGSL20 i think a larger conversation needs to be had about “type” (in the context of love island and society) and how people reduce it to/hyperfixtate on it ONLY meaning race and skin color when it’s not always the case and if it does mean that for someone…then something isnt right 😭
@milieledger@ungodlywests i see why she’s butthurt because by her logic, exploration = thinking someone is more attractive than who they’re with. she said that she’s too hot for the island so if not that many people explored her, then she isn’t prettier than the other girls and thus her ego is bruised.
@starrrways@unr1pegir1 exactly! there’s seems to be a hyperfixtation on type this season (and in the real world honestly) and it’s not lost on me that people are always bringing up types and are relentlessly questioning any deviations from someone’s (or their assumed) “type”
@exhaustedbynite@fendimogul if she truly wanted to attack him she would’ve gone about it in a different way instead of using colorist rhetoric. between this and the narratives about melanie and aniya it’s clear what sol’s motives are and they definitely don’t include smoke for bryce of all people
@saintshans@Nayainshambles she wanted to humble trinity. she talked her up with those compliments then remembered she (sol) is a colorist so she brought it right back down with the commentary on her connection, who’s prettier, etc.
@Clitsalt it’s so obvious she’s bitter that the men didn’t come flocking to her (despite being a bombshell and therefore the onus is on HER to pursue) and how quickly she got sent home instead of coasting to the finals 😭
@ruxibar@studlov3r if i liked someone i wouldn’t make a comment like that with a big ass grin on my face UNLESS i had a bias towards them (colorism). doesn’t matter if she likes trinity. sol clearly thinks she’s above her and any undesirable rhetoric about trinity will always be true.
@cialwayssmiling that’s the real kicker of all this. they’ll resent you but instead of walking away like a normal person, they’ll try to extract as much as they can from you until they’re satisfied or when the next best thing comes along
@criminalplaza too much interference and it will bite them in the ass soon. ofc reality tv will commit to narratives/archetypes for its cast but LIUSA is TOO committed. it’s quite pathetic how gung-ho they to depict and reiterate hierarchal structures like racism, colorism, misogyny, etc.
@JKSeona he wants the angle of her being a possessive, crazy crashout while he’s the innocent (grown ass adult) man trapped and she’s just not that person so now his actions really do look sinister.
@candyeeze@stary_oxd that’s precisely why i can’t take most of their “criticisms” (very, VERY few are valid) of her seriously cause most of the hate stems from their stupid ass beauty standards/desirability politics
