Truly humbling to see the other side of care and the unsung hero’s - carers at home.
The past year has left me burnt out, bereaved, angry, lost, isolated - wondering about my own career. 22 years at the same trust, which I know is great - but pondering what’s been accomplished.
Certainly been a difficult week, what more can this year throw at us. Been humbling to watch the NHS from a different perspective. So grateful and relieved that mums operation is done, but there’s a long road ahead.

@bwakefield1@RAFBenson@aircadets@RAFAC_Digital My son attended today and his only positive about the day was the food! Queuing for non-existent flight for 3 hours. 1st timers sent away as their time slot was messed up, staff shouting at cadets and long journey home. Poor experience
@KatEllis37@danielsk300@aircadets@RAFBenson@RoyalAirForce I feel sorry for the cadets! So many are disappointed and son said seemed very disorganised, causing some cadets to miss out. A day of queuing, being shouted at and a long journey- but no flight and poor experience
@BDavies88@aircadets@RAFBenson@RoyalAirForce 16 year old son has told me the day was awful and not easily bothered normally. Apparently the day was queuing 3 hours for no flight, staff shouting at the cadets and poor communication. First -timers in another squadron turned away as time slot overrun. Good part - the food!
@BDavies88@aircadets@RAFBenson@RoyalAirForce They were allowed to queue for 3 hours onsite, going to be told no at the last minute. They all appreciated that there might not be time/space. But to let cadets queue in the heat, rain just to be turned away at the last minute is not acceptable. Sounds like it was a shambles
@VulcanHowl558 I feel gutted for them and a waste of waiting around in the heat/rain. Just wish they were told sooner, spoilt their day as they spent most of it waiting for a flight which didn’t happen @RAFBenson#RAFACMuster2023
Poor experience for cadets to wait for 3 hours for a flight experience, just to be told they couldn’t. Please in future tell squadrons if you are going to restrict flights to certain cadets. Complete shambles and let down #RAFACMuster23
@danielsk300@aircadets@RAFBenson@RoyalAirForce Unfortunately I think there will be many disappointed cadets. Just unacceptable really considering they have hardly any chances for flying anyway, but do all the ‘dirty’ jobs and promote cadets positively.
@danielsk300@aircadets@RAFBenson@RoyalAirForce Or maybe tell them before they queue for 3 hours. He was selected last year but it got cancelled. The flying part of the cadets has been incredibly limited or non-existent. Yet he cleans the squadron, undertakes car parking duties, poppy selling, and all the extra for free. 🤷🏻♀️
@danielsk300@aircadets@RAFBenson@RoyalAirForce Honestly is just ridiculous. My son has been in cadets for 2 years and only had 1 30 min flight in 2021. Not sure why they didn’t make it clear.
