I think this is a weird cycle where biphobia makes bi people feel the need to justify our existence to other queer people or in queer spaces, but doing so almost makes it seem like we're trying too hard and makes it seem performative

Overheard some teens in the library where I work comparing different things like this that their parents did when they were kids and they were talking with such fondness and appreciation. Finding out your parents did all this for you is just a different kind of magic.

@mixsethaddams Reminds me of what happened in Friends, with the characters are becoming insufferable parodies of themselves. Like in Friends you had Monica going from kind of highly-strung to being a joyless bitch and Joey going from a bit ditsy to unable to accurately mimic basic sounds

@KaylaAncrum It's not a perfect show by any means but I think this is one thing Friends did really well. Each of the main characters are funny in different ways and the way they riffed off each other was always so fun.
