I didn't lose to a single Irelia player at Vegas Regionals. Iโm keeping my Set 2 Kai'sa guide free so you can learn exactly how I handled the matchup.

Went 8-5 at Vancouver on Diana. Still relatively new to the deck so have a lot of reps ahead of me to prep for Hartford. Close to top 128 but didn't quite get there. Hoping to be better prepped for Hartford ๐ช
@GeorgeG_TCG You also need a lot of card draw but progress day isn't castable most games, the format has sped up.
Tempo kai'sa doesn't hold up because it gets hosed by the same cards control kai'sa is struggling against.
@GeorgeG_TCG Draven moved off of combat tricks to raw stat checks, and they go over the removal too easily. Without reavers the little units don't cheese extra points so you need to up unit quality.
Without obelisk you don't make it to big mana turns without falling behind.
@Eparrav_ The irelia matchup has become much harder without reavers and the fact that they're playing more units. Still figuring out a new build that can deal with it. The heavier units being in the main helps a lot though.
Obelisk and Reaver's bans hit hard, so Iโm labbing some pivots.
Pushed some experimental updates to the Kai'sa guideโbattlefield workarounds and deck tweaks aren't 100% "solved" yet, but itโs a start. https://t.co/EzBSNIuTg5
@NicktheBass If you're playing targons peak, smokescreen might also be a very good option to try.
I think tempo Kai'sa is a very good version right now. This is much closer to a build worth looking into for sure.
Thank you for sharing!
@NicktheBass They're just generic battlefields that help unclog hands. The game has sped up and we need to make sure our cards line up much more often now.
@itzsamleee I do not like shakedown. In all cases my opponent will pick the worst option for me. If I'm playing it because I need cards, they will likely just let a unit take 6. If I'm playing it to try and kill a unit, they will let me draw cards. Tends to not work in my experience.
@stormfire116 Both could be potential options. There's a lot of testing that still needs to be done. Candlelit and Zaun are more "generic" battlefields to help filter out clogged hands which happens more often now since we have less mana to work with in general post obelisk ban.
