The Prayer of Faith

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.—JAMES 5:15

Notice that this scripture says, “The prayer of faith will save the sick.” It’s not the anointing with oil that does it. It’s not the elders’ hands or even the elders. It’s the prayer of faith that does it. You can pray that prayer as well as anyone can.

Many people reason that if they don’t get healed after someone lays hands on them, anoints them with oil, and prays, then the person who ministered to them didn’t pray the prayer of faith. What is the prayer of faith?

Let’s substitute God’s definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1 for the word “faith” in this scripture. In other words, “The prayer of the evidence of things not seen will heal the sick.” Or we could substitute Romans 4:17 in there: “The prayer that calls those things that be not as though they were will heal the sick.” That’s what the prayer of faith is. It’s the prayer of the evidence of things not seen.

The prayer of faith doesn’t say, “Look and see if you’re healed. If you are, that’s how you’ll know if you prayed the prayer of faith.” No, the prayer of faith sees with the eye of faith and counts it done. Faith calls those things that be not as though they were.

I saw this as a Baptist boy, and I started preaching it as a Baptist boy. And I got results. Then the Full Gospel people came to town, held a revival, and built a church. I found out that they believed in divine healing, and I was thrilled about it. I had people to fellowship with around faith and divine healing.

Confession:
I can pray the prayer of faith and get results. I can pray the prayer of “the evidence of things not seen”—the prayer that calls those things that be not as though they were. I can call my body well and whole in Jesus’ Name.

IF JESUS DIED FOR YOU, STOP LIVING LIKE GOD HAS REJECTED YOU.

One of Satan’s greatest strategies is convincing believers that God has favourites—and they are not one of them.

That is a lie.

If Jesus Christ died for you, then you are already a recipient of God’s immeasurable love.

The Cross is God’s eternal proof that you matter to Him.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Stop believing the lies that say:

• “God has forgotten me.”
• “God loves others more than me.”
• “My prayers don’t matter.”
• “My miracle is for someone else.”

Those lies are designed to weaken your faith and rob you of the confidence to possess everything Christ has made available to you.

If the devil can make you question God’s love, he can make you hesitate to believe God’s promises.

Reject every lie today.

Declare by faith:

“Jesus died for me. Therefore, I am loved by God. I am accepted in Christ. I am not forgotten. I am not rejected. I am a child of God. I will exercise my faith, possess my inheritance, and walk in everything Christ purchased for me.”

Never measure God’s love by your circumstances.

Measure it by the Cross.

Calvary settled the question forever.

If Jesus died for you, you are loved.

This powerful truth was taught by #ReverendAreogun, reminding us that our confidence in God must always rest on the finished work of Christ, not on our feelings or circumstances.

SIN MAY OPEN THE DOOR TO SICKNESS, BUT IT CANNOT STOP THE MERCY OF GOD FROM BRINGING HEALING.

Sin is destructive.

It separates man from God, weakens spiritual strength, and can open doors to pain, bondage, and even sickness. Scripture repeatedly warns us not to play with sin because its consequences are real.

Yet there is a glorious truth that every sinner and every believer must never forget:

No sin is greater than the redeeming power of Jesus Christ.

When a man genuinely repents and comes to Christ, he does not meet condemnation—he meets mercy.

The cross did not only purchase forgiveness; it also made provision for healing, restoration, and a new beginning.

"Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;"

If sin has brought you into bondage, don't run away from God.

Run to Him.

If guilt has weighed you down, don't hide from Jesus.

Come to Him.

The devil wants you to believe that your past has disqualified you.

The Gospel declares that the Blood of Jesus is still able to cleanse, restore, and make you whole.

There is forgiveness.

There is healing.

There is restoration.

There is hope.

Today, repent and turn to Christ. Lay every burden, every hidden sin, and every broken place before Him. His mercy is greater than your failure, and His grace is sufficient to give you a brand-new beginning.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Jesus Christ is still saving.
Jesus Christ is still healing.
Jesus Christ is still restoring.
Turn to Him today.
