@KellyRankin19 One of the brutal truths of operating in complex and uncertain environments is we rely on our judgments and pattern recognition. We can't 'process' it out. Human judgment, subjective and faulty as it is, is the best tool we have. So take your shot, and learn.
@KellyRankin19 This is a great question. My honest take: You don't know. You are guessing. Some people fall into the ditch of overhiring, some to never hiring. Figure out how you want to lean. The complexity and nuance is so unique. One person might solve what ten couldn't. You don't know.
@geoffcwatts I agree with the article. My observation is that as residual alignment fades effective output goes down even as output remains high. The mechanisms for re-establishing alignment are not understood. Relationships decay. Companies are more controlling, employees more mercenary.
