You think Gen Z is progressive, against sexism.
Then you hear them on Meloni.
You think Gen Z is egalitarian, for the subaltern.
Then you hear them on tea-vending.
You think Gen Z is well-read, for education.
Then you ask them what NEET is.
You think Gen Z is kind, against violence.
Then you see them around reporters.
You think Gen Z is sincere, devoted to its cause.
Then you see their protest fit checks.
You think Gen Z is united, in total solidarity.
Then you watch them handle a burger.
You think Gen Z is just, for absolute fairness.
Then you ask them about merit.
@ChristinMP_@BECCUPDATES Using tech is a welcome step, but we have seen too many announcements, too little execution. One IG of police said bodycam is a must, he even wore it himself. Now its all forgotten. Mechanized sweepers, same case.
@ChristinMP_@BECCUPDATES In 2015, we had done something like this, done a pilot with a rideshare company, and they had showcased the data on potholes to the authorities. A very well meaning senior official supposedly said, this is great, but do you think asst exec engg dont know where potholes are?
@ChristinMP_@krishnabgowda@blrcitytraffic@Jointcptraffic Enforcement is the key, make sure all policemen have body cameras. It protects honest policemen against unruly public. Most who ride on the footpath are the types who'll abuse you if you try to stop them
@ChristinMP_@GBA_office@GBAChiefComm Look at the state of most vehicles, I'll be very surprised if they can pass a fitness test. Nearly none of them have license plates, most will have no headlights, indicators and they will all be overloaded like crazy.
Attack on GBA employees during footpath encroachment clearance drive is unfortunate. It had to happen. Because it is an annually Rs 300 crore plus “rent” collection mafia run by GBA, Police and foot soldiers of local MLAs (in most cases without their knowledge). When the same people come to clear the encroachment, it will naturally lead to clashes. Minister @krishnabgowda is doing a courageous job. He is willing to be unpopular to make Bengaluru walkable again. Next time go with a bigger police force and clear the encroachment.
Bengaluru Metro Green Line services have been disrupted due to a power breakdown.
BMRCL has been operating short-loop service between Silk Institute & Yeshwantpur since 8am today (July 21).
No Metro services between Yeshwanthpur & Nagasandra. BMRCL said its technical teams are working on a war footing to restore normal services at the earliest. @OfficialBMRCL
Lalbagh is Bengaluru’s living heritage and not real estate piece for sale.
This morning, I met walkers, families and regular visitors at Lalbagh. They all had one message - Stop the Tunnel Road project.
CM Shri @DKShivakumar had assured Bengalureans that Lalbagh would be protected. But the State Government in its own affidavit submitted to Hon’ble High Court says nearly 5 acres will be permanently acquired. Which version should Bengaluru believe?
The State Government should stop pursuing misplaced priorities.
Lalbagh is Bengaluru’s pride, not a place for commercial complexes.
#WATCH | Bengaluru, Karnataka: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya says, "The Karnataka state government has, in its affidavit to the High Court, stated that they want to acquire five acres of Lal Bagh land. Lal Bagh is the heritage of Bengaluru. It is the last large lung space where people can come and enjoy some peace of mind. It is contributing to the groundwater level of the city. The Lal Bagh lake is an important piece of ecology and heritage. Five acres is not a small joke. We have questioned this act of the government in the court. The court is hearing the matter. Thankfully, it has made the entire tender process and the tunnel road process subject to the final outcome of the public interest litigations. What is even more alarming is that the tender permits the contractor to build a five-story commercial complex on the five acres in Lal Bagh that they want to acquire. It is all written in black and white in the tender documents and in the DPR. Our fight is not against any infrastructure project. Our fight is not against development. We want development, but we want the right kind of development. Please do not spoil whatever little green heritage is left of Bengaluru for real estate projects..."

Reminded me of the ordinary, and everyday exchange
‘Yenu vishesha?’
‘Yenu illappa, ella maamooli.’
A reassuring confirmation of things are all just the usual, ordinary, and nothing great is happening. A state of comforting normalcy ..
“Our politicians don’t understand Bengaluru.
A 1.3 km flyover that could’ve taken the govt three years was built by a private developer for free in just 8 months.. from design to completion.
The real problem isn’t capability. It’s bureaucracy.” 🔥

Key findings of the Indian Express Investigation:
The investigation examined all 104 candidates selected under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota in the 2025 UPSC Civil Services Examination and found a significant mismatch between the quota’s intended beneficiaries and the backgrounds of many successful candidates.
@HaavinaHede@FoolzWizdom Completely agree on Sat traffic being worse than Sunday, especially evenings, add a bit of rain, with our dug up roads, its completely gone
Had a visibly distraught and shaken lady in her 40’s who had been told she possibly had pancreatic cancer by a posh AI driven cancer screening package costing her over 20k!
Of course, she was referred to me, the endocrinologist, apparently the expert in all things pancreas!
Reason? Her glossy, colorful, booklet album of results showed a mildly elevated ca19-9
(With normal scans-again very posh looking)
First! Ca19-9 is a terrible cancer screening tool! (The AI should have got that right)
Second! Don’t bother doing a test if you have no clue what to do with the result! At least get the referrals right! (The AI should have got that right)
Finally! Cancer screening is serious business, requires evidence-based pathways, careful test selection and expert oversight. Clearly meagre oncologists were not consulted or their advice overruled by the I behind the AI!
Fancy interiors, glossy reports and “luxury healthcare experiences” clearly trumped clinical judgement!
Of course my oncologist then reassured her plenty ….verbally and with further scans to prove her worth (ruling out becomes her responsibility!)
₹20,000 spent creating anxiety….
Another ₹10,000 spent proving the ₹20,000 was a mistake!….
Moral of the story:
screening should start with your doctor! Not in the lab / fancy machine however exotic the interiors!

The hotel that burnt in Delhi had permission for 6 rooms.
They built 25.
They needed NOCs from the fire department and probably the municipality to operate.
They didn't have it.
They were supposed to have a fire escape and an evacuation plan
They didn't.
Every building should be built in such a way that they should give free access to the fire brigade
They didn't.
On the above violations alone, they should have been shut down.
Yet, not only where they operating, they were literally flourishing.
Today 21 people died brutal deaths, including an entire family of 8, because the govt servants that were supposed to ensure stuff like this doesn't happen, took money and looked the other way.
21 innocent people, some of them medical patients, were burnt to death, because a group of people who were supposed to do their job, didn't do it.
21 people looking forward to their lives, were terminated, because a group of rapacious govt servants decided that bribe money was more important than people's lives.
Because for the govt, the value of a life lost due to government negligence, is worth Rs 2 Lakhs in Ex-Gratia.
The bribe amount of looking the other way, is many times that.
And the sad part is, every member involved in the heinous act of allowing this hotel to run and burn, will keep their jobs, get their salary, get the dues that the 8th Pay Commission will inevitable shower on them get promotions where they will take more bribes and kill more people and then retire into a glorious sunset with index linked pensions.
And the guy who ran this hotel. Nothing will happen to him.
He will blame some underling, get a new GST no in his wife's name and then run 14 other hotels like this.
P:S: The Delhi CM has ordered a "Magisterial" enquiry. What's the point of it all, when the so called "Magistrate" might also be the part of this food chain.
P:P:S: If the govt is so serious about punishing the people, let them book every govt officer involved in this in a case of Murder. And then jail them for life.
Starting tomorrow, Supreme court of India is on a six-week summer vacation and will be operating at just 19% of its capacity. There are 53 million cases pending in Indian courts - 93,143 of them are pending in the Supreme Court.
A judge can go on a vacation, a judiciary cannot.
