Stort grattis Anna, Sara, Sofia, Agnes och Johanna ❤️
I just listened to the @2GirlsAndAGame pod on my morning run. Some takeaways:
1. You brought up our recent acquisition of @grandslamcurl, thank you!
2. You decided to crystallize our plans into one word - drinking. Do I think things can be learned from the Waste Management Open and the impact it has had on reshaping the common perception of Golf events, yes. Do I think there's a huge difference between stumbling, dangerously drunk fans and trying to bring a new youthful energy into a sport, ummmm, yes. Could a fun, party-like atmosphere be ONE of the things to help bring in younger fans? It's not like there isn't drinking after curling events. 🍻
Oh - you should listen back to your own podcast when you discussed the rink hole at the Canadian Open and how many young people were there (not to mention the need for MORE bleachers this year).
3. You mentioned our recent trip to Nashville with @RHoman89@koreydropkin@johnnymocurler@CoryandKorey & Matt Dunstone - but for some reason totally ignored the main reasons we went there - the NFL Stars who love curling (@gkittle46, @TheeHOCK8, @MarcBulger10 & Jared Allen) and the awesome @TeeLineNash. Did we have some pops? Of course. Did we have other more important objectives? Perhaps you should have asked.
4. You suggested that pro curlers would be reluctant to accept more energy (nare I say liquid energy) in the crowd but you didn't ask ONE curler what they thought. I've spoken to @BradGushue about the Brier incident and his opinion on #2. Maybe you should too.
5. I have spoken to many curling content creators and sports journalists about the BIG picture. It's way more than drinking 🤦♂️. This is an awesome sport played by incredible, entertaining athletes so perhaps instead of shaming them for posting workout videos (seriously) maybe consider asking about some of the plans we have to inspire growth to our beloved global curling community.
A rising tide lifts all boats, but if you'd prefer treading water, more power to you.
If you don't like my candid takes #CurlingWorld - feel free to unfollow me, cause I'm just getting started.
Cheers

Six different nations won a medal at the Olympics. Add two more at women's worlds. Now we see another two sitting with a 3-0 record after two days of world juniors. Curling is thriving around the world and there's much to like about that.
