Watch it in theaters before it goes out. Remember an earlier movie that came out, Section 375, and after many years this movie has come out on men's issues. Give massive support. Otherwise movie makers who sympathise with men's issues will not make any more movies.

#HanumanAnsh winning hearts without posters outside theatres or any big promotional push feels so special. ❤️
A beautiful reminder that, at the end of the day, it’s the power of storytelling and strong content that speaks the loudest. 🚩

The Curious Case of the Starless Blockbuster.
There is a rather extraordinary trade lesson unfolding in Indian theatres right now.
Toxic had Yash.
Haiwaan had Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
Hanuman Ansh had… nobody.
No established star. No familiar face carrying a ₹100-crore opening. No franchise. No giant marketing machine. No obvious pre-release hysteria.
And yet the little ₹2-crore film has not merely survived. It has taken over the box-office conversation. By its 38th day, Hanuman Ansh had reached around ₹268 crore worldwide. Haiwaan, meanwhile, lost around 1,400 screens to the much smaller film in its opening weekend. And Toxic? Well…
But the really interesting number isn’t ₹268 crore.
It is Day One: roughly ₹10 lakh.
That is the number that should make the trade sit up.
Because Hanuman Ansh didn’t open big and sustain. It did something the current theatrical business has almost forgotten how to accommodate: IT GREW.
The film reportedly opened at around 10% occupancy, with limited shows. Its first week was weak. Its second week was worse. At one point it had been reduced to roughly 40 screens.
And then audiences started talking.
Week three changed the trajectory. Week four exploded. Occupancy climbed. Shows increased. Exhibitors began giving the film more real estate because audiences were actually turning up.
That is almost the exact opposite of the contemporary blockbuster model.
The star film needs the audience to arrive before it has seen the film.
Hanuman Ansh persuaded the audience to arrive after seeing the film.
And that distinction may be more important than the individual success of this one movie.
For years, the industry has increasingly treated the star as the product, the opening weekend as the verdict and marketing as the bridge between the two.
Hanuman Ansh has offered a rather inconvenient counterargument: Maybe the movie is still the product.
A first-time actor. A relatively unknown director. A tiny budget. Minimal pre-release promotion. A subject that many in the mainstream trade might have considered niche.
And yet the film found something money cannot manufacture at scale: belief.
The audience became the marketing department.
The first viewer told the second. The second took the third. Suddenly a film that had looked like it might disappear from theatres became the film exhibitors could not afford to remove.
It is a story about momentum.
Toxic started at the summit and began sliding. Hanuman Ansh started almost nowhere and kept climbing.
One bought visibility. The other earned it.
And Haiwaan makes the lesson even more uncomfortable: having two recognisable stars does not automatically translate into audience urgency. The film’s weak opening and subsequent screen losses demonstrate that familiarity can get people to notice a film. It cannot necessarily get them to buy a ticket.
The industry should perhaps stop asking:
“Who is the star?”
And start asking:
“What will make somebody who has seen this film call somebody else and say, ‘You have to watch this’?”
Because that is the oldest form of marketing in cinema. And apparently, it still works.
Sometimes the most powerful star in the building is sitting in the audience. Word of mouth.
No vanity van. No entourage. No ₹500-crore mythology.
Just one person telling another: Go see this.
