1. Even the Legal Fraternity Seems Terrified Under the Modi Regime
After a flimsy, but politically motivated FIR was filed against me on April 19, 2026, in Chandigarh-- a Union Territory, which is directly under the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah-- it became very tough to find a lawyer to take up my case.
Most of those we approached said their careers would be ruined by taking up my case, since the Modi government was determined to punish me using political clout.
A lawyer who had initially taken up my case in the CJM's court to obtain a copy of the FIR, as well as before the Sessions Judge for anticipatory bail, suddenly panicked and left the case midway.
After that, it seemed impossible that I would be able to hire a lawyer in Chandigarh to argue my case....
