The Gulf Oasis Hypothesis
The backbone of my We Found Eden article was archeologist Dr. Jeffrey Rose's Gulf Oasis Hypothesis: the thesis that the now underwater Persian Gulf served as a lush marshland refuge within a larger arid region for the hunter gathers first making their way out of Africa. So I flew out to Portugal to talk with Dr. Rose about it. This is that conversation.

Since we launched the first decision model in July, we've been concerned that models like ours (and now Jev) can't answer basic logic that a 12yo can solve.
A ball is under cup A. Swap cups A and B. Swap cups B and C. Swap cups A and B. Swap cups A and C. Which cup is the ball under?
Do you really care about a 200ms answer if it gets basic stuff confidently wrong?
Today @levantolabs releases Sage1:
– It's multimodal: it can see!
– It reasons, but only when needed. So it knows where the cup is :)
But there are downsides.

$Genius holding a solid trending line, topping out at $0.955 almost hitting $1 last night.
Looking like a solid buy here backed by YZI Labs and Cz
Already smashing massive volum and now they just burned 4% of total supply (39.9M tokens $24M) from Season 1 airdrop
Fixed 1B max supply. Revenue buybacks + burns loading up. Circulating only 335M.
Staking in the near future
This thing is primed for $10 and higher
why @cz_binance’s @yzilabs invested multi-8 figures in $GENIUS:
did the research. here’s what actually convinced CZ’s family office to write the check and have CZ personally advise:
1. the “onchain Binance” thesis
direct quote from Armaan Kalsi, CEO of Genius:
“aligning with YZi Labs means we have the industry’s most thorough and well-resourced backer taking a meaningful swing at creating an ‘onchain’ Binance, while focusing on what makes CEXs better than DEXs right now: privacy”
2. the “transparency bug”
as DEX volume grows, pro traders hit a structural wall: every large position alerts the entire market before execution. you lose alpha just by trying to move size. CEXs don’t have this problem. DEXs can’t fix it. Genius can
3. Ghost Orders (MPC privacy)
Genius splits trades across ephemeral wallet clusters using Multi-Party Computation. funding links stay confidential to the public but remain cryptographically auditable. non-custodial throughout, users never give up keys. this is structurally more private than both CEXs AND DEXs
4. the founder signal
@ellazhang516, Head of @yzilabs , on meeting the founder at NYC Builder Bunker during a @BNBCHAIN MVB:
“he has the distinct traits of a founder who’s going to win: sharp, logical, and articulate”
5. the execution + privacy thesis
Alex Odagiu, Investment Partner at YZi Labs:
“the next phase of DeFi is about execution and privacy. Genius is building a unified, high-performance trading layer that delivers deep liquidity, fast routing, and privacy-enabled execution, allowing professional and power users to operate on-chain with the same efficiency and discretion they expect in traditional markets”
the bottom line
YZi isn’t backing another perp DEX. they’re backing the interface layer that could eat centralized exchanges by offering everything CEXs offer (speed, liquidity, privacy) while remaining fully non-custodial
and at $60M circulating mcap, the market hasn’t priced any of this in yet

I strongly believe: $GENIUS will do a crime pump.
But I don't know when.
Here's what I observed
Total holders: 16.2k
First wallet: hold 56% of the total supply
Second Wallet: 33.8% of the supply.
Therefore: Two wallet is holding 89.8% of the total supply...
Crime pump : constant... but I don't know when.
Just don't Miss out: might dump hard before pump: might take longer time before pump..
But just don't miss out: buy little by little..
Declaimer: not a financial advise..
$GENIUS, the trade nobody is in
when ASTER launched, everyone was in. every KOL posting. every gc hyped up. every degen and their family had a bag. you couldn’t scroll two posts without seeing it.
ASTER ran to $22B FDV. people made generational money
GENIUS just launched with the exact same backing. CZ is an advisor. same ecosystem
and almost nobody is talking about it
that’s the whole thesis
ASTER launched into euphoria. GENIUS launched into apathy. the market is tired. attention is scattered. confidence is low. nobody wants to commit to anything because everything they’ve committed to recently died
when everyone was in ASTER, the upside was priced from day one. the entry was crowded and the exit was a race
when nobody is in GENIUS, the upside isn’t priced. the entry is empty. and the setup is arguably better
same ingredients:
→ YZi Labs multi-8 fig investment
→ CZ personally advising
→ BNB ecosystem
different everything else:
→ ASTER peak: $22B FDV
→ GENIUS now: $520M FDV. ~$50M circulating mcap
→ ASTER: perps dex
→ GENIUS: onchain exchange connecting all of defi + propAMM
ASTER at $22B had less product and more hype
GENIUS at $500M has more product and zero hype
the vibe being different IS the opportunity
when the market wakes up

The most insane crypto play this month: $ZORA
Up 550% in one week. But why exactly is everyone buying, and can it continue?
On July 16, @baseapp launched its new "Base Superapp," highlighting a bunch of integrations with Zora and several other apps.
This sparked a monstrous rally for @zora.
How does Zora actually work?
• Every single post you create becomes a coin
• Your profile/personal brand is a "creator coin"
• Each new post is paired with your creator coin
• Each creator coin is paired with $ZORA
This creates a flywheel effect where more activity means more demand for $ZORA.
Base entire thesis for Zora is this idea of "coin everything" thesis, tokenizing content.
Let's take a look at the metrics.
Zora Metrics
Zora Metrics are strong, hitting all time highs on activity and new posts.
Zora generates around ~20,000 new posts (coins) daily.
This rivals major launchpads like LetsBonk (~20,000 daily coins). With Zora, there's no concept of bonding or graduation. All posts instantly become tradable.
Volume
The biggest difference between Zora and other launchpads is trading volume. On its best day, Zora saw $12 million traded, avg only around $2 million daily.
Compare that with:
• Pumpfun: $25 million daily
• LetsBonk: $125 million daily
Currently, Zora is achieving only about 8% of Pumpfun's volume and just 1.6% of LetsBonk’s volume.
Yet the valuations tell a different story:
• $ZORA: $225 million circulating market cap
• $PUMP: $1 billion circulating market cap
• $BONK: $2.6 billion circulating market cap
If we value Zora based purely on comparative volume:
• Fair value relative to $PUMP: $80,000,000
• Fair value relative to $BONK: $41,600,000
This would suggest a fair market cap for $ZORA around $60,000,000. Obviously just some lazy math but it gives you an idea of traction, volume, etc.
Although what has really fueled a lot of this is $ZORA raised $50M in 2022 at $600M valuation. It's a pretty good feeling to get a better entry than VCs.
Where does price go from here?
Zora metrics look great when you compare it against itself. Although, it doesn't even come close to other existing platforms in volume, revenue, fees, etc.
As I often say, when you see a bullet train, you either jump on or let it pass, but don't stand in front of it.
This rally appears driven by momentum, a massive short squeeze, and strong marketing tailwinds from Coinbase, causing people to just FOMO in.
With perps funding hitting an -900% annualized, it’s unclear how long this rally can sustain.
Final thoughts on Zora:
Overall, I'm pretty bullish on Zora’s as a concept. Platforms like Instagram, X, Twitch, and TikTok became giants by monetizing user content.
Although Zora's current model forcing tokenization of every post risks massive dilution, and that makes me bearish right now.
There’s nothing worse for a personal brand than a "creator coin" attached to your name sitting near $0.
I'd prefer seeing Zora give creators control more levers and over which content they tokenize rather than an automatic forced opt-in.
It's hard to chase from here if you're not already in. Set some stink bids or wait for gravity to do its thing to get your entries.
