🚨Delighted to see my latest paper (& first major scholarship paper) published this week in @jghe@tandfonline exploring HE climate hypocrisy, fieldtrip internationalisation & the need for progressive value-based frameworks @YorkEnvironment@UniOfYork 👇

“[I]n UK tertiary education […], the largest sources of travel emissions are student flights, but there has been limited focus on the emissions stemming from learning and teaching, particularly fieldtrips, which this post is keen to reflect on,” writes @AGonzalez05 👉@HEPI_news.
Challenging climate hypocrisy in higher education learning and teaching

It concludes by noting that whilst this approach will help strengthen HE's decarbonisation & sustainability agenda, wider discussion of international student mobility (flights) & the signif. carbon impact is critical to fully realise these ambitions #HigherEducation#HigherEd
Really delighted to see my first @HEPI_news post published reflecting on the recent expansion of long-haul destination UG student fieldtrips & the steps that staff and HE can play in addressing this 👇@YorkEnvironment#sustainability#fieldtrips
This post is partly based on a recent article, free to read below, exploring the need for sustainable and inclusive fieldtrips within HE 👇https://t.co/nMzzSbzkGg
ICYMI - earlier this month @AGonzalez05 had his research exploring the internationalisation of residential #fieldtrips published.

It will finish by outlining the creation of a “sustainable & inclusive” fieldtrip framework for @YorkEnvironment. This becomes an important way to reduce environmental impacts, strengthen accessibility & social justice, thereby ensuring that Global North HE leads by example.
@jfgmoulton@YorkEnvironment Thanks @jfgmoulton! I would say minimum half a day needed but that's really compressing things. We went for nearing a full day to really allow conversations to flow and people to meet each other 👍🏽
Last week @DrKAParkhill and I ran a mock Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiation event to welcome all new Year 1 undergraduate students to the @YorkEnvironment@UniOfYork!
It was great to see the students really get stuck into their roles representing the different actors and undertake in some really passionate evidence-based discussions. Huge thanks to all staff and GTAs in making it such a success. Role on @YorkEnvironment COP 25!
The COP event, designed by Praxis Research, saw students role playing as various actors (countries, special interest groups e.g. UNHCR & corporations e.g. Shell) to build alliances in readiness for voting on 7 resolutions including emission reduction targets & farming practices.
