Congratulations to our 5th graders and their graduation. You may be “sending it” out of breck el, but you will be bulldogs for life! #ssdedu#brechat#classof2028
Camp READ was a huge hit. Forts, flashlights, galaxy lights, and PLENTY to read. Can’t believe these little nuggets are headed to middle school in less than a week. #ssdedu#readersgonnaread
One of my favorite things to do this time of year...county clean up time! 5th graders giving back to their community. Any guesses on what piece of trash was found the most??@TownofBreck#Breckcleanup#ssdedu
Rain or shine (or snow), UPS delivered these today. Can’t WAIT to deliver them to Ms. Baldwin’s 4th graders! Spread the ❤️ of reading! #ssdedu#brechat#talkbookswithme
Impromptu visit from Mr. Mike at Facilities talking to 5th graders about working dogs and the training involved. Mike shared his passion for animals and volunteering, as well as how kids can get involved. Lincoln (dog) let us all get some nice pets in, too! #ssdedu#brechat
Books, books, books! I’ve been working on ordering books for our classroom libraries thanks to a generous grant. I LOVE to spread the joy of reading and I can’t wait to get these books into our reader’s hands! #ssdedu#breckel#readersgonnaread
Favorite type of morning meeting—ones with my fifth graders and their pets/stuffies!! I wish we could have them with us every day! Day 3 of spirit week at BRE before February break. @BraceBulldog#ssdedu
Celebrated our family of 5th graders by walking to the ice rink and getting our skate on. Had quite a few kids who skated for the first time ever. Taking risks and supporting one another. Love it!!
Thanks to my AMAZING teammate @CCondonBulldog for getting us over there. #ssdedu
We are two weeks into our book study of Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You. This week, we also began learning about the 13 principles of Black Lives Matter for #BlackLivesMatterAtSchool We are no longer just a safe space—we are a brave space. #ssdedu#BHM#equity
Zoomed in with Dr. @IncaDieterich. We learned about the human brain and memory making (including some memory tests). Then, we learned more about our nerves and experimented with the two-point poke test. Thanks, Dr. Inc! They said “wow, she is smart!”
Today, our SBOE granted a six-month EXTENSION to the READ Act mandate.
We will continue to fight for a one-year extension, but for now, we're glad that educators will have some relief & time to focus on our students as we continue to juggle workloads exacerbated by the pandemic.
