Why @OnChainMonkey is the best! Today I learned how to etch a rune with no prior knowledge in the OCM discord. Thanks @huuep & everyone that helped with advice. Nothing will happen but it is so cool and I did it!

@GuyImprov So sorry for your loss. I lost my dad almost a year ago. It is definitely tough and makes you realize the importance of family. My deepest sympathy and prayers for your family.
I can try my best.
OCM Inscription #20219 stores the art for all 10,000 monkeys fully on-chain on Bitcoin via an HTML file that programmatically renders the various SVGs based on the user's input. The OCM team is now basically waiting for two critical improvements to the ordinals protocol to be complete. They are:
Parent-Child Relationships: Getting this out is the top priority for the Ordinals core team right now and I believe a few devs of the OCM team are helping to contribute to this effort as well. Once released the ordinals protocol will allow for parent-child relationships to be established between inscriptions. This is how collections will have provenance going forward. So what the OCM team will be able to do is create many child inscriptions under this existing parent inscription (#20219) that they can find a way to distribute to OCM holders probably by owning an Ethereum OCM.
Inscription Referencing: The second piece of the equation that will allow all of the child inscriptions to be able to leverage the existing art in #20219 will be through an inscription referencing standard. So for example rather than inscribing each monkey again individually on the new inscriptions, the new inscriptions can say "Hey, the art for this inscription is already stored on Bitcoin and it doesn't make sense to store it twice so just reference this part of this other inscription for this inscription". In this way, inscriptions can reuse each other, and future inscriptions can build off existing ones which will be a huge improvement to the protocol IMO. It will then be up to marketplaces and explorers to implement this new standard and display the referenced art correctly.
