Ever wonder why we donโt have a plan in place for the worldโs future...?
I did too.
Then I decided to do something about it.

Extreme weather events are becoming the new normal.
Annually increasing extreme weather events, stunningly hot ocean temperatures, dangerous #HeatWaves, and the rapid loss of ice sheets collectively indicate a worrisome sign of massive #human disruption to the planet's #climate.
Today's smoke from the wildfires in Canada. Worst air quality in the world in the midwest and eastern US. We are the first generation to feel the effects of climate change and the last generation to do anything about it.

Monitored populations of vertebrates (mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish) have seen a devastating 69% drop since 1970.
And the really messed up part is that it's mostly due to human activity - both directly and indirectly.

We need REGENERATION
Why? Watch the attached video via @kissthegroundCA
We need REGENERATION more than "rewilding".
What's the difference? Please keep reading.
Regeneration is rooted in indigenous wisdom & Regenerative Ag (Agroecology/Agriculture) is about restoring functioning ecosystems as well as reestablishing human connection to land. This way we're a PART of natural biodiverse ecosystems rather than apart from them.
"Rewilding" fails to recognize the role of indigenous people in nurturing landscapes. So, you can't "re" wild something that was never truly wild in most places for, at least, the past 12,000 years. Rewilding is based on a myth of pristine wilderness created by early conservationists like John Muir, who denigrated & demeaned First Nation people before being part of the movement that forced First Nations off of their sacred land to form parks. (For more info read: https://t.co/e1RP28CUyh)
Ecomodernism (rewilding taken to an extreme), in particular, is the further disconnection of man from nature. So this represents even more steps in the wrong direction down a colonial path traveled too many times before.

In 2016, South Australia was prone to periodic blackouts and used fossil fuels for their energy.
Now in 2023, Sydney is 100% powered on renewable energy!
This a major milestone in the fight against climate change.
Hug an Australian today for me!
