@wxmfc50@CestrianJames I think he qualified that by opening the sentence with the words "even by the", but I doubt you're intelligent enough to understand that. By the way, how was your big Friday night game?
@TimBowness@burningshednews Thanks for returning to the NW, Tim. I saw you at Prohibition Studios a couple of years back - a brilliant night! The Music Room at the Liverpool Phil. has become one of my go-to venues of late; Keeley Forsyth, Stick In The Wheel and Gerry Love among others. Ideal venue for you.
@zarahsultana Christ. It didn't take long for the Left's circular firing squad to get mobilised did it? And people wonder why there isn't a viable left wing alternative in this country. Screaming Lord Sutch was like Gladstone in comparison to you lot.
@TimBowness Great pick, Tim; June is my favourite female singer. Elvis Costello said she was the closest thing we have in England to a chanteuse. That compilation CD you had in your hand is a fantastic introduction to her music. A peerless interpreter of contemporary & traditional songs.
@Top10Nathan@TimBowness My personal No-Man fave is Together We're Stranger, which is one of my top five albums ever, but all of their albums are brilliant and I'd never argue with anyone's assertion that any one of them is their best.
@Top10Nathan@TimBowness The only other artist I can think of to whom that would apply is Nick Drake, whose three albums are all interchangeably brilliant and can qualify as his "best". And of course, No-Man have released more albums, which is a measure of their quality.
@ALANMYERSMEDIA That free kick against Bolton was a masterpiece. The Blues player (Stubbs?) charging the end of the wall, defenders falling like dominoes and...goal! Fat Sam going apoplectic π
@TimBowness@nomanofficial One of the best albums of the 1990s. Things Change was my introduction to No-Man, when it appeared on a 3 x cassette compilation called The Audio Directory . Soon after, I found Flowermouth in the CD section at Ellesmere Port Library & found the whole album was just as great π
@NickHolmesMusic@StevenWilsonHQ Will read this review after I've been to the Salford show on Sunday night to avoid spoilers. Wish I was going to the third of the London shows; the prospect of SW and Stewart Lee on the same bill is amazing. Is this for real?
@TimBowness π―
"Blinding hatred of race, sex, religion, colour, country & creed - it screams from the pages of everything I read."
"Are things so very different now?"
Just two excerpts (TFN / Mediaeval) from a musical & lyrical masterpiece.
