@NiseiLounge To day drink or not to day drink; that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind’s eye to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to stop being a whiny little wuss about it and have a shot of Malort and an Old Style tall boy?
@TheStingisBack I remember watching this as a young kid about their age and one of the lines just leapt out at me. It’s really stark and important. I still think about it a lot.
It’s when they finally find Ray Brower:
“The kid wasn’t sick. The kid wasn’t sleeping. The kid was dead.”
@NiseiLounge I hate to see this happen to you. Look, I tell you what - I’ll take it off your hands. I am willing to take that bullet to help you guys remain true to yourselves.
Am I a hero? I really can’t say.
But, yes.
@yonann@rickygervais Also - Brent says he’s a “chilled out entertainer”. He is!! Free Love Freeway is a good song! He can play guitar. He was probably a decent local musician, but eventually had to make the day job permanent. Did fine. But the cameras brought out the regret and desperation.
@yonann@rickygervais Agreed. You can see the layers to Brent. He’s not just “bad boss”. In fact, he was probably a pretty good boss until the cameras showed up. Flawed? Sure. Nobody’s perfect. But it was those cameras that really brought out the worst in him. And made small mistakes permanent.
