@ArableSam I've had much better success using clay watering spikes. Having spent a long time scooping those beads out, I never want to see them again!

@ArableSam I suspect the extra moisture caused root rot. They are pots kept on the doorstep, so it's mainly the rain which does the watering. They used to need topped up routinely with water as it's fairly sheltered, but I found the gel went too far the other way.

The council drop centre details, stories of the clear up operation, the families coping without power, and services doing what they can should have been given air time.
