[Christopher Hughes MBE @chrislinguist]

When I hear students say that “languages are difficult”, I say, is the subjunctive any more difficult than quadratic equations in maths, or are cases more difficult than the periodic table? Languages are no more ‘difficult’ than any other subject. Difficulty is relative.

@OxfordModLangs 5) ENJOY IT. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance for you to have the undivided attention of experts in the subject you love - embrace that! Whatever the result, remember you've done incredibly well to reach interview stage and you should be proud of yourself. You've got this.

We've investigated concerns that students are choosing not to study language GCSEs because they believe it's harder to achieve top grades. Given the evidence, we've judged that an adjustment to grading standards should be made in GCSE French and German. https://t.co/wPd4l8gubr
