@LombardiHimself While this is absolutely true, there is room to also question the manner in which they obtain the player. 2 of these players would have been available later. Add that to losing value in two of the trade downs and this isn't a good use of draft resources.

@LombardiHimself It doesn't seem they have done well from a value perspective. The wr was a player they could have gotten later in the 2nd. Two of the trades have been negative in value. I get moving down but you would think they would get slightly more value.

@LombardiHimself what's stopping mckivitz from doing the same thing? he has more leverage than jennings. there's no tackle in free agency that can step in and do his job (like Kendrick Bourne for jennings) & his backup is Pleasants. No way the 49ers can go into the season with pleasants.

@LombardiHimself They could've just made him play on his contract. This gave them nothing & only Jennings got something. Plus this continues the thinking that holding out leads to more money. This was the 49ers chance to put their foot down and ultimately failed. Who's next? Dee winters, d rob?

@LombardiHimself Can you just tell me what the 49ers got out of this? Jennings would've had to play regardless. Is Jennings going to remember this come contract time? Probably not. To me this just shows that b tier players can hold out and still get something. I think this sets a bad precedent

@urtazablue Dont think we will be major players in the free agent market since we have a few top of market deals to navigate already on the books for the next few years. I could be wrong but I think we may see us load up through the draft for the next couple of years.

@ReaperCJ @LombardiHimself Morale of the story there has been one bad draft (2023), 2022 is saved by purdy. Other than that they have drafted decently. Some of the guys are solid contributors (mcgivitz, mcglinchy, woerner). Others have led or will lead to comp picks ( dj, banks moore),
