From 17–18 June 2026 in Jakarta, 31 AHA Centre staff strengthened their ability to design and deliver competency-based disaster management training through the Internal Learning Management System (Moodle) Training.
By applying adult learning principles and leveraging digital tools, participants developed draft and ready-to-use online learning modules, contributing to more structured, accessible, and impactful capacity-building programmes across the organisation.
This initiative supports the development of competency-based learning pathways and enhances the use of the AHA Centre’s LMS for effective programme delivery.
This training is made possible with the support of the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) through the SICAP II Project.

The Second #AHACentre#Recovery#Webinar – Linking Response, Recovery and Development in Practice brought together regional experts to explore the linkages between response, recovery, and development across the disaster management continuum.
Using Tropical Cyclone Nalgae (Paeng) in 2022 as a case study, the session highlighted how recovery begins alongside response operations through early recovery actions, assessments, coordination, financing, and recovery planning, helping connect immediate humanitarian efforts with longer-term development priorities.
The AHA Centre would like to thank the @ASEAN Secretariat and @UNDP for co-organising the successful event, as well as speakers from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Philippines, #ASEANERAT, UNDP, World Bank, Philippine Red Cross, and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Philippines, for sharing their valuable insights and experiences.
