This is the one story about ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ that I wanted to read. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt each got paid $12.5 million for the sequel with additional bonuses tied to box office, reports @MattDonnelly. https://t.co/dKEXcbDUOd
Javier Bardem on Susan Sarandon getting fired by her agent after speaking out about Israel’s actions in Gaza:
"That tells you how wrong this whole system is. She was one of the first ones to go there. And then she got that professional punishment." Bardem says he’s “heard things” about facing similar consequences for speaking out:
"'They were going to call you about that project, but that’s gone. Or This brand was going to ask you to do the campaign, but they cannot.' It’s fine. I live in Spain. American studios are not the only place."

#TheWhiteLotus Season 4, set during France's Cannes Film Festival, is shaping up to be one of HBO's most ambitious shoots:
• This season's comedy is driven by friction between American movie stars and local French workers (in one filmed scene, a star fights with a receptionist to have room service delivered after hours)
• Laura Dern, taking over for Helena Bonham Carter after exiting over "creative differences," will play a washed-up star chasing a comeback
• Instead of shooting during the chaos of the actual festival, the team will re-create Cannes in the days immediately after it wraps on May 23

I appreciate Mrs. Carter giving her fellow Texan Kacey at least one full working day for us all to swoon over how stunning Middle of Nowhere truly is. A perfect summation of all her eras! 🤠

Just saw this tonight and it oversold the tiniest screening room at my AMC. Go see this so rom coms can get the shelf life — and seating — they deserve 💞
“You, Me & Tuscany” producer Will Packer is responding to a viral X conversation sparked by filmmaker Nina Lee (@NinaSerafina) about what the film’s box office could signal for the future of original, Black-led rom-coms:
“It matters for the Nina Lee’s of the world and for audiences that want to see films like this get made,” Packer tells Variety. “Hollywood watches and then they react. Hollywood will react to the audiences more so than audiences realize; they have the power to dictate what’s made in Hollywood. You vote with your dollars.”
Universal’s “You, Me & Tuscany,” one of the few Black-led rom-coms from a major studio to hit theaters in recent years, releases this weekend.
“If the dollars make sense, then you’ll see more of it and Hollywood will change and adjust,” Packer explains. “So, I am trying to do my part to be successful in a language that Hollywood understands — which is not really the language of social justice, it’s really the language of economics.”
