#CareRef I hope we do not insert into our constitution an amendment that does symbolic and real harm to some of those most marginalised in our community - people with disabilities & anyone in need of care. Demand better - Reword with Rights & Respect for people in need of care
Thanks to @paulmurphy_TD for supporting #Whistleblowers and calling for better protection for those who #SpeakUp. Shame on the Government for refusing the motion.
If you make a protected disclosure to a Minister, then obviously the concerns raised will be about that Department. Now we learn that the disclosure is given to that same Department without the Minister even reading it.

What a joy! Nine of our scholars have completed their studies. They graduated in business, social work, computer science, nursing, education and media communication. We congratulate them and thank our sponsors, especially the African Adolescent Girl Fund, who made this possible.
What a privilege to have got to know #SrStan a little while recording #BeingStan * & her Meaning of Life interview. The 3 great hums - humanity, humility & humour - and faith as something to be lived with joy & love, not laminated. RIP. *https://t.co/eaiZjQzt7D

Another awful case of whistleblower reprisal typical in #Ireland@NoelMcgree@DelaneyMcgree and family made homeless today for highlighting serious financial irregularities in the #Irish Prison Service. #JusticeForNoel
@NoelMcgree Hi Noel,
As your friends and fellow whistleblowers, we want you to know you are not facing this alone. What you and Antoinette are going through is an outrage, and it shows how badly Ireland continues to fail those who speak up.
Tomorrow you and your family face eviction from your home — a situation no whistleblower should ever be put in. We stand with you and your family — in solidarity, in friendship, and in determination to keep your story heard.
You’ve shown great courage in exposing wrongdoing, and we will keep highlighting the injustice of what’s being done to you.
Stay strong, Noel. You have a community behind you every step of the way.
In solidarity,
Your friends in BlowersIreland
Can @OCallaghanJim@SimonHarrisTD@MichealMartinTD@EUCssrMcGrath make sense of this.

A wonderful day at St Patrick’s Pontifical University @StPatsMaynooth as @ArchbishopEamon awards Sister @orlamtreacy IBVM with an honorary doctorate degree in #theology “in recognition of her significant contribution to education, social justice and women’s rights across the world.”
Sí, Da Vida -a project of the Columban Fathers in #Peru recently traveled to the remote Condorcanqui area to take on one of its biggest challenges: preventing HIV in indigenous communities, currently in a state of emergency due to the increase in cases and deaths.@IrishColumbans
I am doing my first 5km race & I thought it was a good excuse to do a fundraiser for 2 charities that are close to my heart Ataxia Foundation Ireland @LoretoRumbek If you are in a position to support that would be brilliant! Thank you https://t.co/1NSndddEoO #iDonate_ie
Today is a day of national and international shame.
This famine could have been prevented, if only our government treated Palestinians as human beings whose lives were worth saving.
