Again, the #IWC2026 served as a platform for knowledge exchange, intense discussions and creation/strengthening of linkages. Thanks a lot to all the participants at the AHEAD Workshop for your collabortaion and feedback!
It was agreat pleasure to organise a workshop with members from the AHEAD Network and interested researchers at the #IWC2026. We learned about recent result in breeding traits in wheat and germplasm sharing. Especially germplasm sharing is one of the “hot” topics in our group!
The AHEAD community is looking forward to its sixth annual workshop. Alongside the International Wheat Congress in Bologna, we will be discussing breeding, germplasm and the successful use of existing and future links.
It’s great to see this special edition in Science about plants and heat! I particularly like the article on the benefits that wild species could provide. @WheatInitiative

We’re so grateful for GRDC’s support for this project. It’s been one of my long term goals to improve thermal resilience in wheat. Great collaboration with @hikemaydon and @rameshsunita39
Great to see the our Steering Committee member @BaumBCI participating at #COP29. We hope that the outcome of this meeting will have beneficial effects and enhance further actions!
Global conferences like #COP29 provide an excellent opportunity to engage with esteemed partners such as @DrTedros, the DG @WHO. I had the pleasure of having a conversation with him regarding the priorities of @WHO, @CGIAR & @ICARDA at @COP29_AZ and our work in Sudan, Syria etc.
Have you heard about the @AHEAD_wheat mentoring Program? It aims to support the wheat experts of tomorrow and to involve Early Career Researchers into the network discussions and provide links between researchers, institutions and countries. Have a look!
