Yesterday HHS dropped a bombshell: they’re slashing the childhood vaccine schedule from ~17 diseases down to 11 universal recommendations, moving flu, rotavirus, hep A, meningococcal, etc. to “talk to your doctor” instead. I dug out my own 1987 baby book and my daughter’s 2007 record to see how wild the swing has been. Pics attached 👇

1987 (me): basically DTP, polio, MMR. That’s it.
2007 (my kid): all that + chickenpox, rotavirus, hep B (3 doses), pneumococcal, meningococcal, HPV… schedule exploded.
Now in 2026 they’re basically rolling a bunch of those 2000s additions back to optional/risk-based.
