AHIP's mission is to ensure safe, affordable homes for our neighbors in need. We provide critical home repairs to homeowners in Charlottesville and Albemarle.
#GivingTuesday is here, and with it we wanted to delve into the “Why” behind AHIP. To start this off, we asked Kisha, our Client Success Advocate, to speak on what brought her to our team!

We asked for our supporters to turn out this holiday season, and were floored by the response. Shooting past our $200,000 goal, we reached a grand total of $238,644!! Thank you so much to all who took part this year, and helped ensure safe housing for our clients!
For some of our clients operating below half of the AMI, the costs of repairing their home can actually surpass what they make in a year. Addressing such crises on their own is a near-impossibility, one they shouldn’t have to face. That’s where AHIP comes in.
Mortgages have continued to climb in recent years, and few feel the impact of this trend more keenly than our neighbors who already live paycheck to paycheck. When these households are faced with a broken roof, they need someone they can turn to, and we’re happy to be there
As the cold weather holds this week, it’s important to bear in mind that not all homemade remedies are safe for you and yours. 29 News’ article on the matter offers valuable insight
