ICE detain single mother during traffic stop—separate her from 2 year old daughter left behind in back seat.

Last words to daughter:
"OK, baby, my love, don’t be scared."

"Sit down my love, mommy is going to go with them."

She is well known community volunteer—targeted by ICE for organizing food drives in support of families during immigration raids.

"They were already waiting for me when I left home," she tells friend over the phone.

Her teenage son was driving, but only had an Illinois Instruction Permit to drive with an adult.

Agents gave her one call before being taken to detention center.

Karina Brucio's only option was to call her best friend to hopefully come and take care of her children.

Incident occurred in the Blue Island suburb of Chicago, Illinois.
