@DavidGl54082417@BeckettUnite That was correct at the time (May 22) but E.ON have bought npower’s residential supply business and Octopus have bought Bulb.
@DavidGl54082417@BeckettUnite It’s actually 3 of the top 6 are British owned. British Gas, Octopus/Bulb and OVO. They have c. 50% residential market share. The 3 foreign owned suppliers E.ON, EDF and Scottish Power have c. 38%. The remaining supply is from small British suppliers.
@DavidGl54082417@BeckettUnite Wrong! France owns 1 UK supplier. Ofgem reports it has an 11% residential market share. Suppliers have made large supply losses in 2022 because the wholesale price they pay for gas and electricity is higher than the price they can charge (due to Ofgem’s cap to protect consumers).
@beisgovuk Our company’s gas bill went up from £80,000 a year to £260,000 a year when we signed a new fixed contract in March 2022. We will be excluded from this scheme by the arbitrary start date of 1st April. Prices went up following the invasion on 24/2/22. Why isn’t that the start date?
