To All Canadians:

This trade war and belittling of Canadians is absolute insanity and makes zero sense. Most importantly, I need every Canadian to know that despite our President's actions, Americans don't hate you—we have nothing but admiration for you. You truly are the nicest people on Earth.

I don't have a single friend or acquaintance—not one—who supports our @POTUS imposing these ridiculous tariffs on you. Your border isn't leaky, and the tiny amount of fentanyl coming through Canada is a pathetic excuse for this aggression.

Nobody—not even the president himself—can explain what "success" from these tariffs would actually look like. If he's trying to destroy your economy and force you to become the 51st state, it's beyond idiotic. You have your own national pride, and actions like this will only strengthen your identity (just like our president's new BFF, Putin, inadvertently strengthened Ukrainian identity by invading in 2014).

We absolutely don't want Canada to become our 51st state. You have your own unique and wonderful culture that deserves to be preserved. Besides, Americans can barely handle English—adding French as another national language to the mix would crash our reading comprehension even lower!

When you see Republican senators, congressmen, or Trump's cabinet members endorsing these tariffs, remember they're terrified of contradicting Trump. They must praise "dear leader" at least three times per interview or fail his loyalty test. I grew up in Soviet Russia, and trust me—they sound exactly like Soviet politicians fawning over Brezhnev during mandatory speeches.

I have friends across the political spectrum who agree and disagree with Trump's other policies, but I cannot find a single American who thinks these Canadian tariffs are fair or deserved. This point matters deeply because the madness of one man in the White House does not represent the hearts of everyday Americans.

Dear Canadians, we stand with you. We believe this trade war our president started is completely unfair and undeserved. If you choose not to visit us because of this, we understand—we'll travel north to you instead.

To my fellow Americans: please share this message to show Canadians that we love them and strongly oppose these senseless tariffs being imposed in our name.
