an 11% target yield is easy to promote. understanding where that yield comes from is what matters.
@grvt_io plans to bring tokenized fixed income strategies onchain through grvt earn, targeting yields of up to 11% on eligible assets.
tokenization can make these strategies easier to access, but it doesn't change the underlying economics. returns still depend on what generates the income, how the strategy is structured, and which risks investors take on.
interest, premiums and invoice related income can all play a role in fixed income strategies. but the headline rate alone doesn't tell us how those cash flows are generated, how consistent they are, or what could cause returns to fall short of the target.
that's why i'll be watching how grvt explains the underlying assets, the source of yield and the risks attached to each strategy, alongside how actual performance compares with the advertised target.
bringing fixed income onchain is only part of the equation. giving users enough information to judge the risks they're taking for that return is what can make that access meaningful.
