💬: Both “PACK IT UP” and “MONEYMONEYMONEY” were selected from music that didn’t make it onto the original GREENGREEN EP. What made these two tracks feel right to revisit and share with listeners now?

🐶: PACK IT UP came from a moment when we were packing our bags, and MONEYMONEYMONEY came from thinking about what money means in our lives. Since both songs were inspired by our own lives and experiences, I think they were able to continue the story of GREENGREEN. PACK IT UP also has a special meaning for us because it grew out of the content we filmed around the time of our debut, about a year ago.

💬: Both new tracks come from very everyday, spontaneous experiences. Do you think some of CORTIS’ best ideas happen when you’re simply hanging out together rather than consciously trying to make music?

🐶: I think PACK IT UP is a really good example of that. About a year ago, we were packing our bags to go to the US to work on our first album. Since it was late at night, we were starting to lose focus and kept getting distracted. We ended up doing beatboxing, which we’re not even very good at, and freestyling, and we almost ended up staying up all night. Later, that moment became part of our content, and we eventually developed it into a song. So I think those kinds of everyday moments can naturally become a big source of inspiration for us.

💬: Who are your biggest style influences right now? Are there any artists, designers or even fictional characters whose style you’d love to experiment with?

🐶: There isn’t really a specific person or style that I have in mind. These days, I’ve just been spending time writing down the emotions I feel and the things that happen to me. I think those experiences will naturally find their way into my music and style over time.

💬: GREENGREEN_playextended marks your first anniversary as CORTIS. If you could leave a message for the five of you to read one year from now, what would you want to tell yourselves?

🐶: Stay calm, stay peaceful.

Q: PACK IT UP came from a freestyle you created while joking around and packing your bags at your shared accommodation. What does that story tell us about the way CORTIS naturally makes music when there's no pressure to create a "song"?

SEONGHYEON: We freestyle and joke around a lot in our everyday lives, and YOUNGCREATORCREW is a good example of that. Whenever we freestyle like this, we end up creating songs that feel very much like us. I love the raw energy and sense of freedom that come through in those songs.

Q: What is one CORTIS moment that went viral that you still don't quite understand why people loved so much?

SEONGHYEON: I’m really grateful, and it's also really fun to see "youngkeukeu" and "neulkeukeu" become phrases that people actually use. Now that I see YouTube channels and shows I used to watch using them too, it still feels so surreal. I'm happy that the things we find funny can resonate with other people and that we can enjoy them together.

Q: Who are your biggest style influences right now? Are there any artists, designers or even fictional characters whose style you'd love to experiment with?

SEONGHYEON: It's actually difficult to pinpoint one specific source of inspiration. I naturally get inspiration from new experiences and everyday life. I just trust my own taste and sense of style, and I like trying things that genuinely interest me.
