Final thing on the offside goal

I’m not buying PGMOL’s claim that Matt Donahue VAR simply failed to recognise that Enzo attempted to play the ball

He spent a good minute rocking back and forth to see if Enzo got his head to the ball, he physically couldn’t have missed that Enzo attempted to play the ball

The reality in my opinion, is that he completely forgot the laws of the game relating to interfering from an offside position. He looked only at whether Enzo touched the ball, because he thought that was the only rule he needed to look at.

And THAT, raises enormous questions over the standards of Premier League officials

The most corrupt ref in the UK -

@prorefofficial is a fucking shambles

[Spike⚡ @SpikeTweets_14]

-- refs after unsuccessful mission to rob Arsenal on Saturday

United fans 🗣️"they like to complain, unbearable manager and fans...take the win"

-- VAR robs United and apologizes 5 minutes after FT

United fans 🗣️"we should all come together to stop poor refereeing in the league"

[Sar Rayz @RayzSar]

"If we had started the season with Carrick" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

1. Accountability - fire/suspend referees that make clear and obvious mistakes

2. Have a clear run book of things to check. It’s shambolic that this is needed for “pros” whose ONLY job is to do this.

3. Disband @prorefofficial and have referees directly under the FA.

"It's why did we get it wrong, what could we do slightly differently?"

Referee Matt Donohue goes through the process of a post-match debrief ⤵️

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

it’s an utter failure after so many years of VAR that these sort of decisions still happen.

That said, the two teams could have played for another two hours, and @ManUtd still wouldn’t have scored. If Carrick gets sacked because of this, that’d be the only silver lining for them

[talkSPORT @talkSPORT]

😡 Ally: "If the VAR do not think he's interfering with play, we need to get rid of VAR!"

🤦‍♂️ Gabby: "Enzo is obviously involved in the play, he's putting off Martinez and Lammens!"

McCoist and Agbonlahor react to #MCFC's goal being given vs #MUFC! 🔥

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

Well done @jaybothroyd, it’s shambolic that Dermot Gallagher can’t condemn the decision here and still defending his @prorefofficial buddies. This guy is useless in this show! @SkySportsPL

[Y @_yxan14]

The officials ‘lost focus’ apparently but they ‘know the rules inside out’

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

When it’s City, “maybe it’s karma”, if/when it’s @Arsenal it would have been unacceptable

@ga11agbon have some shame

[talkSPORT @talkSPORT]

😡 "Bruno Fernandes is a cheat!"

🤷‍♂️ "Maybe the goal is the karma you get for the red card!"

Gabby Agbonlahor rips into #MUFC's Bruno Fernandes for getting Phil Foden sent off in the Manchester derby! 🤬

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

Where are all the clowns that think @PGMOL_FA wants @Arsenal to win the league?!?!!??!!!

[𝐑𝐲𝐲🃏(fan) @AFC_Ryyy]

“We would’ve won the league if Carrick managed from the start”

Carrick after GW4 against 10 men:

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

I really really dislike this City fan, but here he’s right. Nobody except for delusional @ManUtd fans would pick Bruno over KDB

[The Overlap @WeAreTheOverlap]

"Not even close!" 😤

Bruno Fernandes vs Kevin De Bruyne... is it closer than people think? 🤔

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

@Rory_Talks_Ball It’s better than the fa cup all white kit that we always lose in.

[GoonerDad @ahtsisab]

The narrative that somehow referees are biased towards @Arsenal when the evidence point to the opposite is quite hilarious. @PGMOL_FA are just a bunch of incompetent clowns. @MikeDean

BREAKING: The Premier League's Key Match Incident Panel has concluded that there was one missed VAR intervention at Villa Park. They believed Arsenal should've been awarded a penalty for Ian Maatsen's challenge on Bruno Guimarães 🚨
