OK, It's called a facemask for a reason folks, but owing to the fact that "most" people breathe through their noses, it behooves the point to wear one to just under the nostrils! Is the nose NOT a structure of the face?
MOOD SWINGS: Mmmm... If only it were that simple; as easy as child's play during recess-time at school. Dare I even mention "fun?" Those were the days!
@pmeganb The bradycardic second number of 45bpm doesn't seem probable in the grand scheme of things (ie, patient's condition and other findings put together), plus the marked HR decrease; in (I assume) a short period of time just doesn't jive. I'd do a 12-lead ECG for the big cardiac pic.
@pmeganb You make perfect sense to me. What's it that I could/should be offended by? In no way do I feel offended. I used the "Y" chromosome as a creative reference to the male gender, not the DNA of shopping habits!
@pmeganb Yes, I'm chomping at the bit to do STUFF. Admittedly with a different ulterior motive(s) in mind. Although "retail" is never high on my list--except for the frantic 24-hrs before Christmas. I'm theorizing that the "Y" chromosome might be a factor in the aforementioned.
@pmeganb Awww, you've not bored me; not in the least! Although my ties are feeling a little bit sleepy. Maybe your suit(ors) and my ties should mingle with each other in an attempt to maintain wakefulness.
@pmeganb Thanks hun, for sharing your flowers. They are very pretty and spirited--I am sorry you're not feeling the way of said botanical inspiration as of late. DM me if you need a friend; or my powerfully unique mental prowess or just to STS for a bit.
@EM_RESUS I never forget the dictum I learned in medical school, circa 1990; "treat the patient and NOT the disorder." Even seasoned specialists have a difficult time with this; it seems so counterintuitive. It often can be driven by the emotions of the clinician rather than the patient.
Doctor, heal thyself... At an EM/Trauma conference, I began to feel a tickle in my R mid-forearm which progressed to a slightly raised, erythematous bump; incessantly itchy. When I couldn't take it anymore, I nicked the skin, removing this 17 mm ingrown hair with follicle.
@efunkEM@medmalreviewer I was a professional (medic) ski patroller (like @ssk040) who worked part-time in upstate New York during breaks while an undergraduate and we documented every accident case as if we were the FBI, including monitor test-strips, pulse ox, bg and even photos. CYA to the highest!
Okay, listen, is this a thing?
When I am having a bad day or thinking about something emotional I get a single urticaria wheal next to my left eye.
I get hives under all sorts of actual allergic circumstances but Iβm increasingly certain that this is my βbad feelings hiveβ.
@draloysius @DehraMcGuireMD I totally agree. My comment isn't stating that what is actually being tested is a bad thing, just trying to make the point that tests aren't necessarily gauging what people think they are. I of all people as an ER/Trauma specialist understand the valuing of skills under pressure.
