@Olumide301@BethesdaStudios@digitalfoundry The only "artistic control" is at most adjusting the "style" of the filter a bit for the image as a whole, and allowing you to reduce the intensity of it.
This means there is no artistic control, as you can't influence the actual generation on a per-model basis, only blend amount
@Olumide301@BethesdaStudios@digitalfoundry "Big corpo is doing damage control, making claims to quell backlash".
Hmm, guess I should just believe them & not question it! I'm so smart!
The effect works by taking the final render image & motion vectors & applies its own idea of shading, throwing away the modeler's intent.
@MrBenB@tomwarren There's no artistic control with this post-processing effect on a per-model basis. There's only masking the intensity of it.
This completely throws out the window all the surface shading choices of the actual artists.
Here is the actual high-res model showing how she should look
@_dAtA_TRoN_@EndymionYT Surface shading implies physical shapes. The shading has been changed in a way that is different from her actual facial feature shapes. Especially the lip detail and jawline flattening. Hell her jaw even widens a bit.
This filter throws away the shading intent of artists for slop
@Xilo_Zeelow@jamm3rd@yokotaro And even if "time is saved", it's silly that these people will act like that's all that matters.
I could save time by having a car drive me to the finish of a marathon, but now my participation is pointless and just taking up space.
@MLucentWrites @Artofzu_@djcows Twitter has a massive bot problem that has drastically inflated numbers, giving people a false sense of what are actually good numbers.
And more users also means more people you have to compete with for attention, so it's double-edged.
BSKY feel is basically like 2020 Twitter.
@MLucentWrites @Artofzu_@djcows This is not true. BSKY has continued to grow organically too, as a regular user I have been seeing it with my own eyes. It is thriving now and many artists talk about getting much more consistent numbers & genuine interactions.
You cannot compare a site's claimed stats alone.
@Artofzu_@djcows At the very least, you should be cross-posting there (and interacting with comments) so people have more ability to leave here and follow you elsewhere.
Also you will find once you've put in some effort to build some followers that you will get much more consistent interaction.
@Artofzu_@djcows This is such a silly argument.
They aren't here supporting continued usage of Twitter by posting, as their post's purpose is to drive people to BSKY.
Artists staying here are providing reason for regular users to stay as well, because "the content I follow is only here".
@0xSweep@djcows It only continues to get more and more active my dude, but keep trying to cling onto this site owned by a pathetic grifter that pushes for government changes that only benefit him and his billionaire elite and not you.
@djcows@Newyn69420 "Wow, my experience having a fresh account instead of the one I've curated follows and likes on for over many years feels weird, this is so shocking!".
Please think a little.
Once you follow and like more, Discover recommends more of what you like.
Plus all the custom feeds.
@sebsincognito@NioumMC@zachbussey They still are better. Blocks are nuclear, the person can't even reply to people replying to you once blocked. And the feed control is amazing.
The mod team is smaller, they're not going to do everything perfect.
And by using it, you're not empowering a horrible person like Elon.
@IsaiahVinson1@CaseyTheVA@bluesky BSKY Moderation is a much smaller team, there are going to be missteps. That hardly makes it "as bad as Twitter".
Importantly, by staying here you're supporting a horrible person like Elon and the MAGA grifters he helps empower.
For the sake of the internet's future, leave here.
@PRlNCESS_TRUNKS@CaseyTheVA@bluesky Part of the point of using BSKY is that you are in control of what you're seeing and who interacts with you. It's very easy to block someone and they can't even interact with people interacting on your content.
Also, more importantly, not giving power to a person like Elon.
@T_S_Cinema@zachbussey This website has significantly more of a problem of that kind of content and does very little about it after Elon gutted the moderation team. Stop spreading this baseless lie.
@EdoVro@zachbussey You might need to read more carefully. Notice the word there "select accounts". It was very limited in availability.
The news is that EVERYONE has access to it now.
@itspudgymutt@zachbussey A colored ring with a status under it is a very common design trope, TikTok did not invent it. There aren't many other ways to design this that look good and don't use up more space.
