@scaling01 I think it's interesting that even though they had this model for 2 months, they released 5.5 within that time frame. Probably means they have the next GPT version already testing internally. And by the time they release that, they'll probably already have GPT 6.1 internally, ...
When will we get to stage of being able to trust the AI completely in other domains?
Maybe in 3 years AI comes up with new math to prove P=NP. Would the proof be accepted before it's verified? Would we even bother verifying it or just assume it's true at that point?
I can finally talk about 5.6.
I’ve been testing it for months and, without exaggeration, it’s the best model I’ve ever used.
Fast, smart, genuinely creative, and you guessed it, they finally fixed front-end design.
I haven’t needed to check the code I’ve written in two months.
@masteratrolling@LuminaXspace Agree, they cant compete with the current SotA models with their pro model. So until they can, they'll keep tweaking and releasing their smaller models whilst working on their bigger ones.
But, the best small models come from distilling the best strong models
Its been over 4 months since Mythos Preview was announced which was released as Mythos 5. Internally, Anthropic probably have Mythos 6. But it'll take a while to release to the public with US Gov now intervening.
Sam Altman in the financial times:
“In another year or two, we expect to have built systems with astonishing power, capable of delivering tremendous value to the world. Artificial intelligence will reshape the material conditions of human life on a scale that no technology has accomplished since the harnessing of electricity, and perhaps beyond even that.”
I obviously would conquer and believe AGI as I define it - capable of replacing the majority of humans in white collar roles - to arrive in 2029.
Remember OpenAI is targeting a GPT 6 in August, which will beat fabled 5 in all benchmarks. Then a few months after that we will see another step change. This year will be much more exciting than 25’
@scaling01 I imagine they had to need it so it didn't have the same export restrictions as Fable.
I'm hoping for a Sonnet 5.1 or 5.5 soon after the US gov cools down a bit
