I saw a post from a man who shared that he had been abused by his wife and what disturbed me almost as much as the abuse itself were some of the reactions in the comments.
People were laughing. Making jokes. Telling him that because he is a man, he shouldn't have brought it to social media.
Why?
When did being a man mean you are not allowed to hurt? A man speaking about abuse does not make him weak.
A man asking for help does not make him less of a man.
Abuse is abuse, regardless of who is doing it or who is suffering from it.
Let's stop normalising it. Let's stop making jokes about it please..
