As Teso remains an important travel corridor, AIC Soroti team and Partners are conducting awareness and preparedness activities to support public health and community safety. If you need help, information, or guidance, call the Ministry of Health toll-free line on 0800-100-066.
AIC together with the MoH and RCC, held a preparedness discussion on the Ebola Virus Disease outbreak at the Soroti Regional Public Emergency Operations Center. As Teso serves as a key travel corridor, strengthening surveillance, coordination & community awareness.
#Ebola can spread through sexual contact. The virus can remain in semen for upto 6 months after recovery, even when a person feels well.
Men who have recovered from Ebola should follow your health worker's guidance until the virus is no longer detectable.
Men are advised to:
1. Abstain from sex until cleared by the health worker
2. Use condoms consistently and correctly

Happening now in Serere District the official opening of an ultra-modern laboratory at Serere District Hospital HC IV. The facility is expected to serve over 400 patients every day, improving access to quality diagnostic services in the region. Big thanks to CDC for the support.
Today, Dr. Okwere Joseph, representing the PS MoH, officially launched the laboratory at Serere Hospital with support from CDC. This strengthens access to quality diagnostic services and reinforces efforts to improve healthcare delivery for communities in Serere and beyond
