Something most people don't know is that the final duel was actually won by Voldemort.

The reason Voldemort dies instead of Harry is because unbeknownst to Voldemort, the allegiance of the elder wand belonged to Harry and not Snape (hence why he killed Snape since it would have given him the allegiance if Snape was the true master), and the elder wand is incapable of fatally harming its true owner, so the spell rebounded and killed Voldemort instead.

Harry DEFEATED Lord Voldemort, however he never actually KILLED him. Which means Harry is truly not a murderer and has never murdered anyone. That’s what makes the ending hit harder in the books.

The important thing is that Voldemort wasn’t originally hunting James and Lily specifically. He was hunting their child. Trelawney’s prophecy described a boy born at the end of July to parents who had defied Voldemort three times, and two children fit it: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. Snape overheard part of the prophecy and reported it to Voldemort, who decided Harry was the greater threat. Dumbledore later explains that Voldemort effectively chose Harry because he saw something of himself in him: Harry was a half-blood like Voldemort, and Voldemort believed the prophecy was pointing toward him. Lily refused and died protecting Harry, and that sacrifice created the magical protection that caused Voldemort’s Killing Curse to rebound. So the tragedy is bigger than “Voldemort wanted revenge on Harry’s parents.” James and Lily were caught in a war they had already been fighting, but ultimately their deaths happened because Voldemort was terrified of a baby who, according to a prophecy he only half-understood, might one day defeat him. And by trying to prevent that future, he created it.

sementara wowo masih aja umbar-umbar kalau indonesia disegani dunia. lol, halusinasi akut 😭

bahkan ada dubes x yang masa baktinya selesai agustus kemarin, langsung balik ke negaranya. biasanya dubes-dubes kalau selesai masa tugas suka bikin farewell sama counterpart indonesia dan sempet jalan-jalan dulu di sini sebelum pulang. tapi yang ini enggak.
