Great evening of training, engaged learners, skills refreshed and new ones learnt, helping to ensure the safety of parishioners attending mass and events.
Members of our parish gathered this evening for an excellent First Aid training session led by Mike from Heath First Aid Training
During the evening, parishioners learned a range of invaluable life-saving skills, including CPR (resuscitation), how to use an AED (defibrillator), what to do if someone is choking, and essential first aid techniques for both adults and children.
The practical, hands-on training was informative, engaging and gave everyone greater confidence to respond should an emergency ever arise.
We sincerely pray that we never have to use these skills.
However, it is reassuring to know that members of our Faith Family are now better equipped to help others with confidence, compassion and care.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Mike for sharing his professional expertise and reminding us that sometimes the greatest act of love is simply being ready to help a neighbour in their moment of need
@Nyissan98@conorwfc For the English National Anthem, it's fine. Scotland have flower of Scotland, the Welsh Land of my Father's, we get the British GSTK. Jerusalem would be ideal for England team events, Cricket, Rugby, Football, Commonwealth games etc. British anthem for Olympics and state events
women are dealt with in OHCA. We need to do and be better for our Mother's, Daughters, Aunties, Cousins and female friends. We have recently invested in female manikins to help improve the quality of our training and help improve outcomes for women when they need it most. #CPR
On #internationalwomensday we want to highlight the gender inequality in one particular life saving area. Gender disparities exist in the care received by women in out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). They are LESS likely to receive bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
in comparison with men, this affects their chances of survival and survival to discharge with a good neurological function and quality of life. Correct Automated External Defibrillator pad placement is also LOWER in women than males. Education should look at addressing the way
