I was the only white British man on our building site today
I’d say around 15 other Eastern European and Asian lads
Lots of language barriers and trades working all over a large site
We laughed all day, listening to Asian lads singing along to backstreet boys on my radio was the high light 😂

When I packed up the main boss called me over and said all the lads like working with me, he likes working with me and said he will give more more work than I can handle 🤦

Far too many UK and especially Welsh youngsters are afraid to graft. Whether you like it or not there are foreigners ready to do the jobs you don’t want to do. All are studying English in the nights, some have double jobs and all know it’s a means to an end

Not saying I support the current open border policy our government run but when you work with people who want to work while you have friends and family who choose not to and moan… it’s an eye opener

Another brick in the wall. Finished the days running in a small town. Went over to the footy pitch to see the locals having a game. Gaffer asked me if I can play ball. I said, gaffer. Just ran 8000 odd km's to get here so bit stiff, but best believe I can still hold it down in middle of the park like a 2010 obi mikel.

Throws me into the mix. Cultured performance. Nothing silly. If in doubt, get it out. Areas getting hit. Ground getting covered. Confirmed still got it.

So embarrassed, my card got declined at the supermarket today when buying groceries for the family. The whole place was looking at me as I had no money on me at all.

The wife had nothing left in her accounts… but we needed the food to eat. I called my parents to see if they could help but they flat out refused.

Absolutely stuck.

I felt like a complete failure.

Then I realised I had a flashy Porsche, so I sold that bought the supermarket so we would never go hungry again.
