Footage shows Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole smiling after their first court appearance after they killed PC Andrew Harper in August 2019.

Answering a burglary report on August 15, 2019, Andrew Harper and a fellow officer were met with tragedy as Andrew Harper was dragged for one mile by the suspect's vehicle after exiting his patrol car.

On 31 July, a third man involved in the crime, Henry Long, was sentenced to 16 years and both Bowers and Cole to 13 years in prison. They were acquitted on the charge of murder.
