For students from #Sudan: I created this database of UK scholarships that target students who experienced forced displacement, hardship, and financial distress. I will continue updating as I find more resources: https://t.co/rxHNsoexTn
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, the RSF carried out a double drone strike on Al-Matar neighbourhood in El Obeid, North Kordofan.
The first strike hit a residential area, destroying homes and injuring civilians. The second strike targeted those who had gathered to help evacuate the wounded.
More than 19 civilians and military personnel were killed or injured. Among the victims were three members of one family and two sisters from another.
Attacking civilians a second time as they rush to help the wounded is a war crime. It is a deliberate strategy to maximise harm and instil terror in civilian populations.
This follows a series of RSF and SAF drone strikes across North Kordofan that killed at least 33 civilians in seven days. The pattern is clear. The impunity must end.

Several people have been killed in protest violence in Kenya where transport workers blocked roads over government fuel price hikes that took the cost of diesel to record levels.
Journalist Muammar Ibrahim has been detained by the Rapid Support Forces in El-Fasher for six months, since October 2025. No independent or verifiable information is available regarding his health, legal status, or conditions of detention. We urge the RSF to immediately release Ibrahim and to ensure his safety and physical well-being. https://t.co/57gnFWXJm8

One of the kindest most selfless people I have known. To have known you as a colleague and friend was a true blessing. اللهمّ ارحمه واغفر له، واجعل مثواه الجنّة
We, the TIMEP family, are absolutely devastated by the news that the brilliantly talented and deeply empathetic Sudanese advocate Hamid Khalafallah has passed away. It was the greatest honor and privilege to host Hamid as a 2022-2023 nonresident fellow.
On this third year anniversary of the war in Sudan we woke up to the devastating news that our friend and comrade Muzan Al Neel has passed away. She was a brilliant revolutionary thinker, writer and organizer and a wonderful human.

🇸🇩 April, 15 2026 marks three years since what has been dubbed as the “Forgotten war” first broke out in Sudan.
Two army generals – the Sudanese Armed Forces’ leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Mohamed Hamdan ‘Hemedti’ Dagalo, leader of the para-military Rapid Support Forces – have plunged the African nation into the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.
OkayAfrica speaks with Sudanese American analyst Aida Abbashar and Sudanese documentarian Ala Kheir about the history behind the conflict and the heavy toll it has taken on the people of Sudan ❤️🌍

Volkswagen: Tracking Sudan’s blood gold from a war zone to global supply chains
As foreign governments prepare for the International Sudan Conference in Berlin next week to address the humanitarian catastrophe, some corporations linked to these countries are accused of buying conflict gold from Sudan. A new investigation by the Centre for Environmental and Social Studies (CESS) shows how major international companies, including Germany’s automobile giant, Volkswagen, are implicated in this trade.

Mass killings of civilians and aid workers continue in Elfashir by the RSF, alongside a growing wave of displacement toward nearby towns such as Tawila. ELFashir is now facing a dire humanitarian catastrophe one of the worst in the world, while the world watches and no one seems able to save innocent lives.
Incredibly concerning developments in Al Fashir today - civilians are fleeing en masse as the RSF celebrate their capture of the 6th infantry division in the heart of the city.
SAF, civilian resistance fighters and residents have been squeezed into western neighbourhoods.
Elfashir has fallen to RSF. As expected, mass killings taking place since last night.
As we all warned, RSF is committing another campaign of ethnic cleansing.
And not just in Elfashir, RSF attacks & massacres reported in North Kordofan.

My niece Dr Lello Aida Amjad Abasshar just received her PhD for: “One Army, One People? constitution making, alternative imaginaries, and military rule in Sudan. Our family is tempted to take credit for all of it, but it is her love for Sudan that deserves every accolade.❤️
