NEW GTA 6 DETAILS:
- Bus stops can be used for fast travel. You can wait for a bus and either experience the full journey or skip the ride to reach your destination.
- Drive-thrus are fully functional. You can pull up, order food and receive temporary stat boosts from what you buy.
- GTA 6 has a RideMe app, similar to Uber or Lyft. You can request a driver and either stay for the journey or skip it.
- GTA 6 has a zoo where you can study different animals. Jason and Lucia can also visit it together as a date to improve their relationship.
- Convenience stores are more interactive. You can physically pick up items from shelves and purchase them, similar to the system in RDR2.
- The HUD is highly customizable. By default, information like the minimap and cash only appears temporarily, but you can enable a classic always-on minimap or use a compass instead.
- A new quick waypoint system lets you select points of interest directly from the world without opening the map. The map itself can also be opened directly using the PS5 touchpad.
- GTA 6 includes a Streamer Mode that filters copyrighted music, as well as a Photo Mode similar to RDR2.
- Cinematic Mode from RDR2 returns, allowing you to use cinematic camera angles while driving around the world.
- Phones are now physical items that Jason and Lucia actually look at and use. Each character has their own apps and follows different people.
- Videos and posts you discover on social media can lead to actual locations and people around the map. Some people posting content online can later be found in the world.
- The phone includes a fitness app that tells you when to work out, alongside apps for messaging, banking, social media and transportation.
- A vehicle app called Waink gives you information about cars, including which tool you need to break into them, their selling price and the cost of registering them.
- You can’t simply steal any vehicle and permanently make it yours. Stolen cars need to be registered for a fee before becoming personal vehicles.
- Hair can be cut or shaved at safe houses, while barbers and salons give you access to different styles. Unlike RDR2, you don’t need to wait for your hair to grow before choosing longer styles.
- NPC interactions work similarly to RDR2, allowing you to greet or antagonize people. Different NPCs can react very differently depending on the interaction.
- Lucia can independently defend Jason in free roam. During the Rockstar demonstration, a woman began shoving Jason after an interaction and Lucia responded on her own by hitting her.
NPCs now have a much larger variety of heights compared to GTA 5 and RDR2, which Rockstar says was a significant technical challenge to implement.
- The density of pets throughout the world has also been increased.
