I’ve mostly avoided conversations behind this tweet since lady night cause I thought I didn’t care, but after seeing a bunch of old heads in the FGC and peers explain their own reasoning why this is bad… This is highkey a nothing burger.

1. Ludwig isn’t wrong, even if he is joking. Every creator that isn’t like 5-7 people in the FGC shouldn’t be arguing against this

2. Ludwig wouldn’t be able to say that if the same group of people bashing him showed out for the content scene as a whole.

I’ve said it before. IN PERSON the FGC is damn near unmatched. Only thing that beats it from my own personal experience is Pkmn. But content wise? We’ve only barely started moving the needle after nearly 2 decades, and mind you the needle was moving BACKWARDS for the last 6-7 years.

I understand him saying that at THE major FGC event is “lame” but that’s honestly the BEST place to say it. Everyone is there to pay attention on THAT weekend. Devs and creators alike should be way more receptive to creative change instead of pretending the FGC is perfect and will thrive on its own.

We’ve made more progress this year than we have in the last 3-4. The scene has ACTUAL sponsors now with way more opportunity than before. Too many ideas for content, FG events, and crossover between communities that would significantly push the community forward for us to be arguing about Ludwig saying what we all know is true, but some of us just didn’t like that he said it at EVO. 😑

Ya know, someday, film nerds are gonna have to stop worshipping this motor mouthed video store clerk and stop thinking that every opinion he has about film and acting comes from on high.

Don't get me wrong. I love Tarantino's movies. He's a damn good director and an excellent writer (except for his obsession with the N word). BUT not every opinion he has is the gospel truth. He's wrong in his assessment of Dano here.

Remember, QT cast his own non acting ass in some of his movies and they're arguably the worst parts of his films. So take his opinion on other actors' abilities (especially one who is much more accomplished than he is on that front) with the tiniest grain of salt you can find. Oh and saying Black Hawk Down or Dunkirk is a better film than There Will Be Blood is a laughable opinion. Honestly. Anyways, we talking about this in one hour on SPILL THE TEAQUILA!
