There are less than 415,000 African elephants left, placing them as endangered species under the IUCN, awareness must be made to conserve these beautiful species! #39canimals
"Illegal poaching has been a severe issue since the 1970s. Back in 1970, the African elephants' population was about 1.4 million (Bauers 2009). However, at the end of 2020, there were only 415,000 African elephants left in the wild (Vaughan 2021)..."

"A petition to stop the murdering of dogs can also help educate others about [euthanasia] and possibly change their minds. Once there are enough signatures, it can demonstrate...that something needs to change in order to end such inhumane methods and save all dogs."

if chimpanzees can make tools by themselves, what is the boundary between them and human-beings? Anyway, we are losing them day by day. Jane Goodall claims in the TED talk: "It is a loss of human cultural diversity and I saw it with my own eyes."

#39canimals "Poachers still find loopholes. We should push to adopt more uniform enforcement strategies that will create an even playing field. This will allow poaching to be 'be equally discouraged throughout the range states, affording poachers no refuge of lesser punishments'"
"Due to the degradation of their habitat and extirpation by humans, Wolves currently inhabit only about two-thirds of their niche worldwide, and about 10 percent of the original range in the United States" #39canimals
This is evidence that elephants need not to be abused and tortured for our pleasure and entertainment, there are other methods such as holograms that are safe practices for our environment that can be used in a wild scope of other places without inflicting harm #39canimals
Circus Roncalli has become famous for being the first circus to use holograms instead of using wild animals in their acts, and they have received positive responses and plenty of attention from around the world. #39canimals
It does NOT matter who or "what" feels pain, it is the ability of one to feel pain and with-go suffering that distinguishes their righteousness and their moral and ethical relevance because at the end, pain is pain. #39canimals
Through #39canimals, my entire perspective of life has significantly changed. Through intensive research, reading, and hearing renown scientists, the most important thing I learned is "Pain is pain"(Peter Singer).

Elephants are emotionally complex species, displayed through their grieving process. They remember and mourn their loved ones, even years after their death. This raises the question of our morality and ethical actions toward elephants #WhatIlearnedin39C

We as humans need to recognize that many animals just to name a few, whales, dolphins, apes, dogs and elephants have intellectual and emotionally complex similar to us humans, yet many of them have fallen vulnerable under us humans #WhatIlearnedin39C

Hi #39canimals, while recapping the gains from this course and my overall research, I learned that getting informed, and raising advocacy through this platform is the key element to be the voice to those that don't have one, and influence a change in the world #WhatIlearnedin39C
"Twitter is an upstanding tool to not only advocate for elephants but for many other prevalent issues. Through Twitter one can inform & raise awareness of prevalent issues, inherently giving one the direct power to make the world a better place for all to live in" #39canimals
"To extend on the issue of the ivory trade, 100 African elephants are killed each day by poachers pursuing ivory. 70% of ivory is imported to China. China is not the only consumer of ivory, the U.S, Thailand...Vietnam are also large consumers of ivory (Linder)"#39canimals
The implementation of anti-poaching legislation significantly increases the elephant population, in order to reach legislation, collective awareness about poaching affecting the existence of elephants must be made and advocated for! #39canimals
"In Kenya, through governmental and societal anti-poaching efforts, and legislation, poaching of elephants has been reduced by 90% and has shown steady elephant population increments. Figure 2 demonstrates the significant impact of anti-poaching laws (Poaching Facts)"#39canimals
